Facebook Started the Testing of New Facebook Timeline Design
Facebook is testing a new Facebook Timeline Design for its Timeline, as we know that Facebook Timeline is very important move by Facebook as it is totally changed the way of Facebook profile appeared. The new look creates subtle but noticeable changes to the top of user profiles, chiefly moving the user’s name, home location, occupation, education and other basic information into a layer of text at of the “cover photo,” the widescreen image that serves as the backdrop for a user’s profile. The text has been changed to white to stand out against the dark colors of a user’s cover photo.

The carousel of thumbnail images highlighting friends, photos, places, likes, etc. has also been compressed. Images are now replaced by thumbnails. Next to these, a new “Summary” section appears, presumably to highlight key events as a user’s Timeline. The new test also condenses current tabs, including the “Friends,” “Photos,” “Map,” and new “Favorites,” into a smaller space just below the cover photo, making for a more streamlined design.
It’s not clear if the new design will give users greater control over the appearance of their Timelines. We’re curious to know, for instance, whether users will be able to modify the color of the type that appears on top of their cover photos.
What do you think of the new Facebook Timeline Design? Would you miss the thumbnail images if they were removed?
