Step by Step guide to make Facebook Timeline Completely Private
As we know that Facebook Timeline is introduced for all users but there is lot of things which you may not like. Facebook Timeline made easier for user to get wall posts, events etc. by date but in other hand for security and privacy purpose it’s not good to make it public.
Why to make Facebook Timeline completely private
In past few years Facebook have changed their privacy settings several times and if you don’t regularly visit your privacy settings, you could be sharing more than you thought you were. There is lot of events which we want to share with your friends only but unfortunately we share the information with such strangers whom we don’t know.
Follow these simple steps to make Facebook Timeline completely private
Go to Privacy Settings > How You Connect and change the settings for “Who can post on your timeline?” and “Who can see posts by others on your timeline?” from “Public” to “Friends”.
Go to Privacy settings > How Tags Work and change the settings for “Maximum Timeline Visibility” from “Public” “to Friends”.
If you don’t want to share with anyone then you can change those settings to “Custom” and Choose “Only Me” by this option you will be the only one who can see the posts.
Now limit your past posts which may have been made public at the time to friends only. To do this, go to “Limit the Audience for Past Posts” and click “Manage Past Post Visibility”, then “Limit Old Posts”. This will change all past posts to Friends only, even if you made them public initially.
Hide your Past post from Facebook Timeline
To hide your past post from Facebook Timeline either you have to hide or delete from your timeline, at the upper right corner of the post click at the pen and select “Hide from Timeline” to hide or “Delete Post” to delete as you want. If you delete then it removes from your timeline permanently and if you hide then you can get it back.
Delete your posts from others timeline
This step is little bit hard and more important because you have no control over how other people protect their Facebook privacy. To remove your posts from other’s timeline then go to your Timeline and click on “Activity Log”. Now you can see all your posts (comments, likes, events). To see your post only then click on “All” at the upper right corner and choose “Your Posts”.
