Default Folders:-
While computer is opened there are following default folders:-
Mydocument:-It is used to store the music,video,sound etc files.If we do not save our file also automatically they are saved in this folders.
Mycomputer:-
It displays the harddisk’s parts like Local disk(C),Local disk(D) etc.When we set up new application programe they are stored in local disk(c).We can store our file in local disk(d) also.
My network places:-
It shows the information of network system sothat it is not used for storing data.
Recycle bin:-
When we delete the file or folders automatically go in recycle bin but when we delete the file permanently (using shift+delete) that can not go in Recycle bin.
Restoring data from recycle bin.
a. open recycle bin.
b. Right click on the file or folder.
c. Click on “Restore.”
Internet Explorer(IE):-
It is used to open the website in the internet.It is one default file.
User Defined folders:-
To create the user defined folders for storing our data like pictures,view,music ,document etc do as following:-
How to create a new folder?
There are various process to create a new folder. Among them following process is to create folder at desktop
Right click on desktop
Then choose new option
Then choose folder
Now you can found a new folder on the desktop
Then give the name of that folder as per your choice
How to open the folder
v Double click on the folder
v Or right click on that folder and click on open.
How to delete a folder ?
ü Right click on that folder
ü Then choose delete
ü Then click on yes
Process to rename the folder:
-right click on folder
-choose rename
-now give the new name for this folder.
-press enter.
Or
-select the folder.
-press f2
-rename
-press enter.
Copy and paste:-
Copy and paste are used to create the duplicate of the file or folder i.e. if we have to create the duplicate file or folder of the existing in any location .This way will not affect to the original.
Process:-
a. select the file or folder.
b. Right click on it .
c. Click on copy (ctrl+c).
d. Open the others location (file or folder).
e. Right click.
f. Click on paste(ctrl+v).
Cut and paste:-
To move the file or folder from one location to another we use cut and paste together.This way the original file or folder is removed from the existing location.
Process:-
a. select the file or folder.
b. Right click and click on cut(ctrl+x).
c. Open the others location .
d. Right click and click on paste(ctrl+v).
Labwork:-
a. Create the folder and name your own.
b. Rename to your parents.
c. Delete them and restore .
d. Copy the picture and paste in your folder.
e. Cut them and paste in mycomputer’s d: drive.
-At last restore ram and shari folder from recycle bin
-give the name sita on ram and suman for shari
Note
If you delete your folder by pressing delete key withholding shift key on your key board that doesn’t go in recycle bin and you can never restore that folder in future.
Work:- Delete the folder cse and ram by pressing delete key withholding shift key.
Rename the folder of your name by giving your father’s name
