Use of Photoshop:-
Adobe Photoshop is mainly used for inserting special effects, filters and layer effects (layer style). Changing the color, brightness and contrast of the image accompanied by transform and feather commands help in giving the image a different look depending upon the taste of the user.
How to open Photoshop?
To open Photoshop follow up as below process:-
a. Click on start menu.
b. Click on run and type “Photoshop”

c. Click on “Adobe Photoshop”
When The Photoshop is opened you can view the following window with the different menus, toolbars and objects.
Working within Photoshop environment:-
For this purposes you need to create the new document at first.To create the new document follow up process:-

Name:-
what ever you write here name it will remain the name of the document.
Image sizes:-
To create the image sizes you can give the preset sizes like custom,letter or given but the

Resolution-
The resolution is used to make the image’s sizes big or small.The more resolution of image makes the picture’s quality better.The standard resolution for web is 72 pixcels.
Mode:-
We use different mode for the colors and working mode like Gray, cmyk etc
RGB: is used for the all kinds of colors.
grayscale: for the black and white cmyk: for screen print and news paper.
labcolor: for web that reduced more colors and does not let to use all the tolls as well as save in all format.
Bitmap:-Normal picture with low quality and size.All tools and format are not available.

It is used for setting the background.The following options set the background differently.
White:-sets the background white.
Background color-Used for the colorful background.
Transparent:-Used for no colors and background.

a. click on “set background color” icon on the tools palate.

Tools Palette
The tool palette appears on the left side of the screen and include the tools that are used to type, select, paint, draw, edit, move, and view images, change foreground/background colors and work in different modes.
Description and use of the tools
Marquee Tools(M): –
The marquee tool selects areas within a layer. It is capable of selecting rectangular, an elliptical, square, single column, and single rows.
Rectangular Marquee Tool(M):-
Used to select the picture in the Rectangular shape.
Elliptical marquee Tool (M):-
Used to select the picture in the elliptical shape .
Single row marquee tool (M):-
Used to select the picture in the single horizontal line.
Single column marquee tool (M):-
Used to select the picture in the vertical line.
Move (V):-
-Moves selections, layers, and guides to start the new tools.
Lasso Tool (L):-
The lasso tool can select areas within in a layer that can’t be reached with the marquee tool.
The lasso tool selects the areas like freely pencil and polygon lasso tool selects on each click where you want then magnetic lasso tool selects on the same range of colors.
How to bring outer picture in the document ?
a. Select the picture using selection tools.
b. Click on move tool(v).
c. Drag the picture and drop on your document.
Or
Copy and paste.
Magic wand (W):-
The magic wand is an automatic selection tool. It selects similar range of color at once.
Inverse (CTRL+SHIFT+I):-
When you select the large part of the picture using the selection tool which has the similar color range specially using magic wand, to select the opposite part of the picture we can use the inverse .
For the inverse:-
A. go to select menu.
B. Click on inverse.

To select the flower from the selection.
Deselect (Ctrl+D):-
To remove the selection part.
Reselect (CTRL+shift+D):-
To reselect the deselected part.

Feather(ctrl+alt+d):-
Feather makes the pictures’ edges soft so that the outer picture is matched with the background and seems the natural image.
Ways of creating feathers:-
a. click on any selection tool like marquee, lasso ,magic wand or any.
b. Give the value more than zero in tool bar in feather.
c. Select the picture as you like then move the picture on the document.
Or
After using the selection tool press ctrl+alt+D or use feather from select menu and give the value.
Note:-
For marquee and lasso tool we can give feather from tool bar and for magic wand from the select menu.

Free transform (Ctrl+T):-
It is used to select the picture freely for increasing and decreasing size.
For this :-
a. use short cut key or.
b. go to edit menu.
c. click on free transform.
d. Press Enter key.
Transform:-
Used to select the picture in the different unnatural shapes and change the direction.
Transform can be used when there is Free transform.
you can use it from edit menu also.
Transforming picture:-
Free transform the picture.
Right click on it and choose the options like :-scale,rotate,distort,skew,perspective,fliphorizontal,flipvertical etc. or Use edit menu for Transforming.
Flip horizontal:-
Used to change the direction from left to right or RIGHT to LEFT.
Flip vertical:-
Used to change the direction from top to button or from button to TOP.
Creating colon of picture:-
a. Select the picture.
b. Press alt and drag and drop mouse .
This creates many duplicate image of the original picture. The duplicate does not effect to the original one.
Resizing from bounding box:-
a. select the picture.
b. click on “show bounding box” and resize from the corner.
Layer:-
Layers are picture’s remaining location each others above and down of the pictures on the canvas. We can work separately in the layer that while working in one layer the other layer is not affected.
Properly working with the layer is proper mixing of picture. So that there is the great role of layer in Photoshop when we insert the different picture in the canvas ,the new layer is created. so that we have to select the particular layer to work individual in that.
Creating new layer:-

managing layer:-

a. Right click on the layer in the layer palate.

Unlock the background layer:-
The background is default the locked ,in such a case it does not allow to work with. So it needs to be unlocked .

Deleting layer:-

Blending options mode:-

Opacity:-
Using this we can increase the transparency effects to the layer .On 100 % the picture is normal but in less transparent.
Fill:-
Using fill also we can give the transparency effects to the layer with the blending modes.
Merging picture:-
We can merge the different layer and make the single layers using merge methods .There are some methods to merge the pictures like:-
Merge down (Ctrl+E):-
It is used to merge the upper layer (picture) with the down layer. It is generally used to merge one by one.
Merge visible (Ctrl+shift+E) or flattern image:-
Using these methods we can merge the different layers at once then convert the layers to one single layer that becomes one complete picture and we can save that picture to the final picture.
Note:-These methods can be done by layer menu also.
Crop tool(C):-
It is used to crop or cut the necessary part from the document to finalize the picture.
Using process:-
a. click on crop or press c.
b. select the necessary part from the square nodes then resize.
c. Press enter.
Saving picture:-
To save the picture generally we should be conscious about the location, format and file name, resolution etc.
Steps to save:-
a. go to file menu and click on save(Ctrl+s) or save as(ctrl+shift+s)
b. Give the location.
c. Give the file name .
d. Choose the file format “*.jpg “ for the standard picture for printing purposes, “ *.gif” , “*.bmp” for the web purposes and “*.psd” for editing in photoshop purposes.
e. Then click on save.
Image size:-
Image size is the size of picture remaining area with in the canvas.
To change it or define:-
a. Predefine while creating new document or
b. After creating the document right click on its tools bar then set the size in the document size.
constraint properties:-
If it is checked size is fixed on ratio so that to set yourself height and width uncheck it.
Canvas size:-
It is the document’s area where different sized pictures can be brought out.

Colon stamp tool(s):-
Using this tool we can create the colon picture of the original picture.
Process:-
a. select the layer from where you are cloning.
b. Press alt and click on picture.
c. Click and move the mouse on the destination canvas.
Pattern stamp tool(s):-
It fills the pattern effects on the layer .
To get more pattern ,
a. go to standard tool bar.
b. Choose the pattern.
c. For others more ,click on talk button and select.
Note:These pattern are changed in original state by opacity,mode,flow etc.

Brush tool (B):-
It is used to draw the effects differently .you can draw the picture with different styles of brush.

Eraser Tool(E):-
We can use eraser tool to erase the images differently.

a.Eraser tool (E):-

B.Background eraser(E):-
It erases the images with background then shows the background with transparency.
C.Magic Eraser Tool(E):-
This eraser tool erases the one similar range of color at once.
Gradient tool(G):-
It is used to fill the gradient colors effects.
Using methods:-
a. choose the tool.
b. Click on one point.
c. Release on another points.
Getting different gradient colors.
a. Right click on the canvas or click on gradient color box in the standard tool bar.
b. Create the new gradient colors.
There are two gradient types:-
I. Solid
II. Noise
You can create the different gradient colors using these types from the color stop sliders .
Styles of gradient:-
There are following types of styles of gradient in the standard tool bar in which we can draw the gradient differently.

e. Reflected.
Dither:-
If we check this mode the gradient seems outer dark and inner bright.
Reverse:-
If we check this mode the gradient seems outer bright and inner dark.
Transparency:-
If we check this mode, it adds the transparency in the gradient colors.
Note:
Blending modes and opacity also affects these color’s normal state.
Paint bucket (G):-
It fills one color only.It can fills fore colors and patterns.
There are two fill option in paint bucket in the tools bar:-
a. foreground.
b. Pattern.
If you choose the foreground ,you can fill the fore color in the layer that can be set from the color dialog box in the tool box.
If you choose the pattern ,you can fill the pattern effects in the layer. For this choose the pattern from the pattern box in the tool bar palate.
Blur,Sharpen and smudege tool[R):-
Blur Tool:-
It makes the picture’s edges soft with transparency effects. So that to make the combined picture we use the blur tool and that creates the picture natural.
Process:-
a. click on tool.
b. rub on the picture.
c. set the opacity 100 % or less and mode normal.
Sharpen Tool:-
This tool sets the sharpen effects to the picture i.e. works opposite of the blur tool.
Smudge tool:-
This tool liquefy (stretch) the picture’s parts with transparency effects.
Dodge,Burn and sponge tool(o):-
Dodge tool:-
It adds the white effects to the picture. It has the three modes: highlight, midtowns and shadows .According to the modes it adds differently effects.
Burn Tool:-
It adds the black or red effects to the image. It’s effects also are affected by modes and opacity.
Sponge tool:-
This tool adds the black and white effects as well as color effects to the picture.
It has the two modes:-
a. Desaturate:-adds the black and white effects.
b. Saturate:-adds the color effects to the picture.
Type tool(T):-
We can use type tool for writing text.
There are two types of type tool:-
a.Normal type tool
1. Horizontal type tool.
2.Vertical type tool.
b.Mask type tool
1.Horizontal type mask tool
2.Vertical type mask tool
Writing method:-
a.Click on type tool or press T.
b.write down the text.
c.Click on move tool.
Writing kinds of the text:-
a. Artistic: when you write on one click that text is artistic text.This type of text can not contain the paragraph effects.
b. Paragraph:when you write covering the large area that creates the paragraph text.It can contain the paragraph effects.
Formatting text:-
Choose the font type, size, alignments, colors, wrap text style, style palate etc. to format the text.
Wrap text:-
Using this palate we can set the different text style .
Process:-
a. select the text.
b. Click on “Wrap text”.
c. Choose style from style box.
d. Arrange the bend, horizontal or vertical distortion as you required.
e. Click on ok.
Style palate:-
Using this palate we can set the different preset styles of button,text and colors style in the text or picture.
Process:-
For text:-
a. Select the text (ctrl+A).
b. choose style(for more style get from talk button.)
c.For none click on “cancel style” box.(For this you need to get Cancel button from talk button checking “reset style”)
For picture:-
a. Choose the layer of picture.
b. Choose the style.
Character and paragraph:-
Character:-
This tab contains the text formatting options.
Leading:-Space Between the two lines.
Set the tracking for the selected text:-Space between the text.
Horizontal scale:-set the horizontal size of the t ext.
Kerning between the character:-Set the accurate space between the two words.
Vertical scale:-Set the vertical size of the text.
Base Line shift:-arrange the super or sub script position. Negative value is subscript and positive value is superscript.
Paragraph
Paragraph tab:-
This tab contains the paragraph formatting options.
Text alignment:-There are left, right, justify, justify last left, justify last right, justify last center .
First line indentation in the paragraph:-
This create the indentation (gap inside) in the first line of each paragraph.
Space before and after the paragraph:-
These create the space between the each paragraph. But use only one at once.

layer style:-
Using layer style we can set the different effects to the image or the text according to our choice.
Proces:-
a. Choose the picture or text.
b. go to layer menu.
c. click on layer style.
d. choose the style and arrange as you want.

Blending mode:-Sets the different blending effects to the text.
Drop shadow:-sets the shadow out side.
inner shadow:-sets the shadow inside.
outer glow:-sets the outside glow i.e. shadow like effects.
inner glow:-sets the inside glow.
stroke:-sets the border in the layer.
color overlay or gradient overlay:-Fills the color or gradient effects instead of existing but sets only one.
Bevel and emboss :sets the button like effects like of 3 d effects.
satin:-sets the button like effects with shadow.
pattern overlay:-sets the pattern effects to the layer.
Mask type tool:-
Using this also we can create the text but it does not create directly text because we have to fill.
It also writes the both horizontal and vertical text.
Process:-
a. click on the mask type tool.
b. click on the canvas.
c. write text.
d. click on move.
e. you will see empty text that can not be resized.
f. choose brush,pencil,colon stamp or pattern.
g. fill on the empty text and deselect (ctrl+D).
Shape Tool(u):-
The shape tool is used to create the different shapes like rectangle, square, polygon and others custom shapes.
Using the shape tools we create the logos and different styles.
While using shape tools we have to follow these steps:-
a. choose shape or path for drawing differently.
b. shape tools should be restrized for edit.
c. To make the logos we edit and merge down the pieces of picture.
Path and shape:-
when we choose the shape tool or pen tool they are appeared in the tool bar palate.
Path:-It is the path or the border of the shape which can be used for the selection by border.

Shape:-If we choose this option the shape is created with color fill while using shape tool or pen tool. To edit it should be restarized.
Rasterizing method:-
a. select the layer where there is shape.

Selecting shape for fill:-

Using pen tool we can do the following two functions:-
a. Create the shape.
b. create the selection path.

To create the shape by pen tool, choose the shape and draw where you should resterize.
B.Create the selection path:-
We can create the selection path by pen tool if we choose the path.
After creating the path we should press ctrl+shift+enter where you can fill color or image’s effects.

Color balance (Ctrl+b):-

Hue and saturation (ctrl +u):-
It is used to arrange the hue and saturation colors effects.
If you check on “Colorized”, all the pictures become colorful with except arranged by hue and saturation.
Brightness and contrast:-
It is used to add brightness and contrast effects for light and dark picture.

For deleting path:-

· Filter, distort, ripple and amount between 50-70.
· Image, mode, indexed color.
· Flatter -yes
· Image, mode, color table then choose any color where choose from the box “black body”.
Creating speed type:-
To create the speed type uses the following steps:-
1. Open new document with black background and RGb mode.
2. Write down the text in any color.
3. merge down the image(ctrl+E).
4. Filter>blur>gussain blur and set the amount between 0.8-1.5.
5. Filter>stylize>solarize.
6. image>adjustment>auto levels.
7. Filter>distort>polar coordinates and choose the lower-polar to rectangle.
8. image>rotate canvas>90 *ccw.
9. Filter>stylize>wind>from left.
10. image>rotate canvas>90*cw.
11. Filter>distort>polar coordinates and rectangle to polar.
12. image>adjustment>hue /saturation and choose colorize as well as set the colors as you like.
